Three Lines You Should Not Use at Work

Nowadays, more and more people, men and women alike, are career-driven and would like to move up the corporate ladder. Gone are the days when you content to just bring home the bacon. Now, you want to be able to bring home the pig and then some.

In order to start your way up the corporate ladder, though, there are three lines that you should not use.

First, stay away from the lines, "this is how we've always done it" or "in my previous company, this is how we did it." There is nothing wrong with following best practices and there is nothing wrong with learning from previous experiences, as long as they do not stop you from recognizing new and better ways to perform on the job. One scenario that is always given is about tying one's shoe laces. When you were young, your parents taught you how to tie your laces and this is something you carried with you until now. Now, however, it is advisable to double knot your laces. So, while you've been tying your laces the same way all your life, it is better to double knot. It will stay tied longer.

You should also be careful about saying "I don't have time ... " Time management is very important in order for you to succeed in the corporate world. Along with managing your time, you should learn to choose your battles. You cannot make time for everything, but you should make time for battles you can win and delegate other tasks to those who can do well in it. This also means that you should know your strengths and how to use them to your advantage.

Finally, how many times have you said "I can't do that" without first trying the task? Most of the time, you shy away from the unknown. On the other hand, you can only learn new things if you explore beyond your comfort zone. So, the next time you feel like saying, "I can't do that," try saying "let's try it" and see how much further you can push yourself and you never know, you just might surprise yourself too.

It takes work for you to be able to work your way up the corporate ladder. If you are not comfortable of reaching beyond your usual ways or stretching yourself further, it will be much harder and will take longer for you to get to the top.

If you want a change....change your hair!

Okay so it's no secret some celebs change their hair color what seems like every day. Others change their hair cut or sometimes add extensions. For us "normal" people we don't have the money to spend on these sorts of things and if we do like "normal"people our hair can definitely suffer the consequences of such frequent/drastic changes.

Let's take for instance the lovely and very over talked about Kim K. One day she was platinum blonde (which I'd have to say was not a good look for her) and the next day she was back to brown. Now I think it's safe to say even though some assume it had to be a wig others believe she dyed her hair either way I'm pretty sure it wasn't some $50 wig from a hair boutique.

Other celebs have actually fessed up to having caused hair loss due to the constant dying. For example Ariana Grande. She has admitted that because of the constant dying red of her hair she dealt with thinning hair and committed to extensions and the high pony that has become kind of like her brand.

Now she may be able to spend limitless money on these sorts of things but for us when we damage our hair our hands can be tied in the choices we have at that point.

For some they could be lucky enough to just need a fresh cut and let their hair rest while for others, well if they were to cut their hair they'd be praying every night for it grow back. Luckily for those folks, with the technological advances of today this doesn't have to be the end all be all for their hair.

With products like Rogaine, Keranique and countless vitamins like Hairfinity, along with procedures like hair transplants from companies like Bosley their are cost effective options for "normal" people to fight the battle of hair loss whether we cause it ourselves or have no choice in the matter.

Did you notice the biggest common change in celebrities in 2014?!

So I noticed something strange about Jamie Foxx when I watched Annie. No it wasn't a weight difference, no it wasn't an age difference...it was staring me right in my face.

Do you see it? No it's not that he seems much happier in 2013. No it's not that he's wearing a suit in 2014. It's his hair. I know it's not just me that sees it.

Okay how about this one...

You have to see it now as this example is much more drastic. If you guessed his hair than you guessed right! Congratulations! Not that you win a prize or anything but you can rest well knowing you are pretty observant.

These two or only a couple of the many celebrities that changed up their locks within the last couple of years. According to an article on Buzzfeed they may have achieved this change by luck, hair transplants or possibly everyone's eyes are just playing games on them. Looking through the other pictures they have on their site I'd say most if not all achieved it by hair transplant. But definitely don't take my word for it...go take a look for yourself! And if you don't know what I'm talking about when I say hair transplant...this might help.

Celebrity Doppelganger!

It's crazy when we see familiar faces in the street and then they end up to be somebody different! The experience gives us all a good laugh at the end of the day! Here are the photos of strangers who can be a doppelganger of our favorite celebrities!

How amazing it would be to see the President taking the train! Unfortunately, he's just  a regular commuter who looks like Barack Obama!

Hey may look like the Armagedon star but if you'll look closely you'll see a younger version of Bruce Willis.

Before you start drooling! That man wearing a headset is not Ryan Gosling! Hard to know at first look right?

Caring cop.

This is what I like to see. So there was a 10K in Louisville, KY on March 21, 2015. One particular participant who has lost more than 200 pounds in just 2 years was taking on the race with her son by her side. Her former husband had lost a hand a leg partly because of diabetes and with a report from her doctor that she needed a knee replacement she was wanted to get her health in order and joined a bootcamp called Aspirations. Throughout the race she could feel her body shutting down and didn't think she'd make it. Until a cop came to join her and help motivate her to finish the race which they all did...together. In a world filled with chaos especially surrounding police it's great to see this one really doing something out of the kindness of his heart. Hats off to you Lt. Aubrey Gregory.

While you were sleeping...

While most of the world was asleep I was awake watching the Equinox live online. If you saw it you are lucky. It was simply....breathtaking. Things like that you don't get to see very often and if you do...hats off to you. There were only certain parts of the world that could witness it so thanks to Svalbard (a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean), even though I'm not in one of those parts I was still able to view it as they streamed it on a news website.

To say I've seen nothing like it is an understatement. I can only wish that one day I'll be lucky enough to see it in person.

Well, Hi There!

Well...hi there. :-)

Whatever has led you to this blog, whether it was an intentional search for something specific or an accidental click of a link, I'm glad you are here. As the blog name suggests this blog will include some of this and some of that. One day it may be ramblings on about a TV show I watched the night before. The next day it may be about a restaurant I went to for lunch and the next it may be about an interesting research article I've read. Stay tuned and I hope you enjoy your time here with me. I'm a pretty opinionated person and some find my opinions to be comical and so you might just find entertainment in some of the things I post. Either way I look forward to sharing with you all.

TTFN...ta ta for now!
